We are settling into a new year, and things seem to be going nicely.
Sept 7 Labor Day - no school
Sept 16 Fall Pictures
We will be taking a states test on September 14. Students will need to identify the names of the states.
Our PE days are Mondays and Thursdays. It is helpful if students come prepared.
We have library on Tuesdays. It is helpful if students bring their books back that they are ready to check in, so they can get another one.
SEP Conferences will be coming up the first week of October. Please watch for an appointment slip.

Welcome to a new school year in 5th grade. A letter was sent the first part of July to welcome students back to school and give some information that will help them feel comfortable on the first day.

Back to School Night
This year we will be doing things a little different. The 5th grades are invited to attend a formal presentation at 6:30 or again at 7:30 PM. There will be no general session in the gym this year. During the presentation in our classroom, I will be sharing with you some information about our class that will help our year run smoothly. We hope you will join us and take this opportunity to get acquainted.
Here is a list of items your student might like to have for school. They are helpful, but not mandatory
School Items List
1 Theme notebook (lined paper)
Pocket dictionary/thesaurus (only if you would like to keep one in your desk) We have these in our classroom.
1 package of dry-erase markers
An old sock that can be rolled up (will be used as an eraser)
Pencil box for supplies (optional)
